It is my pleasure to welcome you, visitors, to our website, which reflects the ambitious and forward-looking vision of the Higher Normal School of Kouba Cheikh Mohamed El-Bachir El-Ibrahimi in Kouba. Our programs and pedagogical objectives are aligned with modern educational technologies and the digital era.
Following Algeria’s regained national sovereignty, the educational system faced major challenges, particularly in addressing the shortage of qualified teaching staff. This necessitated the implementation of comprehensive reforms in educational programs. Initially, foreign expertise was sought, before establishing national higher education institutions to develop a complete educational system, from early education to higher education, which underwent a comprehensive reform in 1971.
The Higher Normal School of Kouba was established on April 24, 1964, in accordance with Decree No. 64/134, with the mission of training teachers for secondary education across all specializations. It was the first and only institution of its kind in the country, offering continuously updated programs in line with the guidelines of the Higher Education sector and the requirements of the National Education sector..
The school is home to highly qualified teaching and administrative staff, committed to maintaining standards of excellence and modernizing services to provide the best possible learning environment, recognizing our leading role in training outstanding educators. Digital technologies have played a significant role in these efforts, with smart teaching tools, simulation platforms, digital learning systems, and virtual communication technologies being progressively integrated into our pedagogical practices.
At the same time, the school has prioritized efficient and high-quality administrative services, through training programs aligned with modern digital management, improving accuracy, transparency, and effectiveness, and instilling in staff a principle of integrated professional performance.
